ONE TOOL EVERY VEHICLE NEEDS

One item that we had forgotten to mention that all vehicles should have is a handheld seatbelt cutter and window hammer emergency tool. These are usually quite small (small enough to fit in your glove compartment) and inexpensive ($5 – $35). While small and inexpensive, these tools can save your life. At the very least, these tools come equipped with a seatbelt cutter and a glass breaker, but may also have a flashlight, flashing emergency lights, a tire pressure gage, or even an audible alarm. Make sure to get one that is brightly colored, so that it can be more easily found in low light, and then stow it away nearby in your car. You’ll feel much better knowing that it is there.
